My Story

Jerry Su - Piano Teacher

Jerry is graduate of Bachelor of Music (major in teaching) in Melbourne University. He has been a teacher for many years focusing on classical and contemporary piano. With over 10 years of experience, he has worked as a composer and director for university musicals and performed in pop and jazz bands around melbourne. He loves improvising
and creative music making.

Rohan Jacobs - Junior Piano Teacher

Rohan began learning the piano at the age of 6 at the Music Education Academy and completed all of the Australian Music Examination Board (AMEB) piano examination grades. Rohan has Completed an Advanced Diploma of Music - Sound Production at Victoria University Polytechnic and is currently completing Music Degree in Composition at Monash University. Rohan is excited to be now sharing his love and passion for learning and playing the piano with the next generation of music students at the Music Education Academy.

Olivia Capitanio - Junior Piano Teacher

Olivia is currently studying a degree in Pharmaceutical Science at Monash University. Olivia began learning piano and violin at the age three. Olivia hopes to share her knowledge of music to her students, helping them reach their full potential whilst also creating a fun and memorable experience. Olivia also undertakes formal Ballet studies. She enjoys dancing, creative arts and spending time with her Labrador.

Ming Yao Koh - Guitar Teacher

Ming is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Music (Contemporary Performance) at The Australian Institute of Music. Ming has over 5 years teaching experience for all ages, catering to a variety of styles. Ming is very passionate about helping his students to grow to their fullest potential. His motto is simple, "Teach a student how to play a song and they'll be able to play a song. Teach a student to play music and they'll be able to play anything". Ming's approach to teaching guitar is to nurture his students through fun learning whilst helping them to strive towards creativity, independence, and critical thinking. Students have the option to learn guitar for fun and/or prepare for AMEB guitar exams. In his spare time, Ming enjoys working on his creative projects producing videos for his social media pages.

Kyrene Paine - Violin Teacher

Kyrene has been studying violin for over 22 years and has been actively teaching violin throughout various primary schools in Melbourne. Her performance experience has included the Trinity Anglican School Senior Strings, the Trinity Anglican School Orchestra, the Cairns Junior String Orchestra, the Cairns Concert Orchestra, and currently full time violinist with the Hume Coommunity Symphony Orchestra.

Kyrene performs regularly for community events, charity and fundraising concerts and is delighted to share her passion for teaching and learning violin with her students.

Erin Mannix - Vocal Coach/Teacher

Erin Mannix is a highly trained singer with a rich background in musical education and performance. Holding an Advanced British Diploma of Musical Theatre with Associated Studios. Erin has completed intensive acting and musical Theatre training with Patrick School of the Arts, Justin Lehmann Studio, APO Arts Academy and NIDA Australia.
Erin has worked and studied with renowned voice coaches in Australia and London. Her diverse vocal methodologies, a combination of classical and contemporary voice training has equipped her to teach various genres, particularly excelling in contemporary styles. With over a decade of performance experience, Erin offers students a comprehensive and fun approach to singing training.

Anthony Mastrullo - Guitar Teacher

Anthony is an enthused and passionate teacher always looking for new and fun ways to share the art of music. 

Currently finishing his Bachelor Of Music at Boxhill Institute, and also still an active member of the Melbourne music scene playing both solo and group shows frequently.

From playing in Melbourne to also an international audience including Vietnam & Japan, Anthony has a huge variety of genres ranging from Rock, Jazz and the elusive Fingerstyle Guitar.

Talia Capitanio - Junior Violin Teacher

Talia began learning piano and violin at the age of 3 and by the age of 10 began singing lessons. She loves sharing her passion of music through teaching with young children and brings the fun out of learning. Other than music, Talia enjoys playing netball, sending time with her friends and is currently completing a Certificate 3 in Beautician.

Polly Tamer - Junior Piano Teacher

Polly is currently studying a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) and Bachelor of Psychology (Honours) at Victoria University. Polly began learning piano at the age of 6 along with her twin brother Darcy, with Lorenzo at the Music Education Academy. Polly has recently completed her Grade 6 piano and VCE music. Polly is excited to impart the joy of music to the next generation of Music Education Academy students. In addition to her studies, Polly makes the time to volunteer at the Salvation Army, enjoys a game of tennis and playing the piano and listening to music.
